Yangju’s Nari Park – A Scenic Autumn Destination

When the scorching Summer sun sets and cool breeze rustle the leaves, it is an indication that Autumn has arrived. As the seasons change in Korea, it’s not just the red, orange, brown or golden leaves, but also the brightly coloured Autumn flowers that gets us excited. And Nari Park in Yangju is one of the must-go places for Autumn flowers in Korea.

About an hour of train ride from Central Seoul, at the outskirts of Seoul, lies considerably massive plots of beautiful flowers, bright red shrubs and pink-coloured grass. During Autumn, Nari park comes to life with plots and plots of Autumn blooms – Globe amaranth in purple, orange and white, whirling butterflies gaura in white and pink, red canna lilies that are taller than humans, deep red and green kochia scoparia bushes, and the rage these days in Korea, pink muhly grass in the most romantic pink colour you can ever find. These colourful plots of flowers are guaranteed to beautify and brighten up your feeds in instagram.

These gorgeous flowers start blooming in September and stay pretty all the way till end October. Kochia scoparia, also known as burning bush, turns from green to bright red usually in October. For aspiring photographers, you would probably spend half a day or more there, so make sure to have your lunch before going to the park as there are no eating places nearby. Or perhaps even pack a gimbap along. That said, if Nari Park is not in your itinerary this Autumn, you should add it in! And oh, be prepared to walk a lot and snap a lot!

Directions To Nari Park

From Yangju Station (Line 1) Exit 2, take Bus 80 from the nearest bus stop and alight at Nari Park. The bus ride should take about 13 mins. Otherwise, you may also take a taxi directly to the park. The taxi fare from Yangju Station to Nari Park should cost approximately ₩7,000.
